Look Great On Horseback With ZP176 Clothing

By Jerri Perry

For some people, horse-riding conjures up images of cowboys in their cowboy boots and leather chaps specifically designed for being in the saddle most of the day. Others think of jockeys in colorful jerseys. Many, however, think of aristocrats wearing formal-looking jackets and riding pants known as jodhpurs. If this is the kind of riding you want to do, you may want to get a bit of blue blood in your get-up by wearing clothes from the ZP176 line.

A family that has done more than any other to cement riding's aristocratic image, even if it probably wasn't their intent, has been the royal family of Great Britain. Until not too long ago, Queen Elizabeth II was often seen riding out on her country estate and she's still the owner of racehorses that have won championships like Ascot. Prince Phillip is regarded as a bit of an equestrian pioneer and Princes William and Harry often appear in press photographs in their polo uniforms. Even Prince Charles is still an avid rider and polo player.

Like her parents and her brothers, Princess Anne grew up with a deep love of riding. She met Captain Mark Phillips through the sport and married this champion rider, who had won a gold medal at the 1972 Olympics. She herself represented her country as a member of the British equestrian team at the 1976 Olympics and was the first British royal to do so.

It was almost a given that the princess' and her husband's children would grow up in the saddle. Their daughter Zara followed in their footsteps and from 2006 to 2010 she was the world champion in eventing. In 2012 she won a silver medal at the Olympics in London and press photographers were delighted as a proud Princess Anne presented her daughter with the medal.

Zara is not only an accomplished rider. In school, she excelled not only in a variety of sports but also academically. She became a qualified physiotherapist, naturally specializing in equine physiotherapy. She married rugby hero Mike Tindall and in 2013 she had to give up riding for a while as she was expecting their first child, a daughter who no doubt will grow up with a love of horses too.

Another of Zara's accomplishments is a clothing line she launched in 2010. Unlike so many celebrities who launch their own lines of jewelry, shoes or other fashion items, Zara chose to stick with what she knows best. Her line, which got its name from the number she wore the first time she represented her country as an equestrian, includes stylish versions of the items a rider would need. There are tops, jackets, caps, socks and headbands in the line, for instance.

Zara designed her range in collaboration with Musto Outdoor Clothing, a company that also sponsors her as a rider. There are Musto stores throughout the United Kingdom. They also have an online store and will deliver almost anywhere in Europe.

British lovers of the outdoor lifestyle know and respect Musto's merchandise, which also includes ranges for activities like sailing. If you want a little aristocratic style, however, you can't go wrong with the ZP176 range that Zara Phillips has designed. Maybe these stylish items will even inspire you to become a great rider.
